ASELSAT, which was created to integrate the components developed by ASELSAN into the platform developed by ITU, was sent to the USA to launch SpaceX’s Falcon-9 rocket into low earth orbit.
Developed by ASELSAN, the ASELSAT 3U Cube Satellite will be sent to Earth’s orbit this month. The satellite to be sent into orbit by SpaceX’s Falcon-9 rocket on January 14 was sent to the United States.
ASELSAT 3U Cube Satellite was developed by integrating the components developed by ASELSAN into the platform produced by Istanbul Technical University (ITU) and is ready to be sent to space.
ASELSAT Cube Satellite to be placed in low earth orbit
According to the news in Anadolu Agency, ASELSAT will obtain optical images with camera payload. This optical image to be obtained will be downloaded to the ground station via the X-Band down line subsystem. Accordingly, the digital card will collect statistical data about the space environment with the radiation dosimetry and temperature sensor on the payload.
With the ASELSAT Cube Satellite Project, it is also expected that the X-Band transmitter developed by the company will be verified during its orbit mission and a history for ASELSAN products.
Falcon 9 rocket to launch the ASELSAT Cube Satellite
SpaceX’s Falcon-9 rocket, where ASELSAT will be launched on January 14, has been launched 102 times and landed 63 times, according to the information on the SpaceX website. The two-stage Falcon-9 designed and manufactured by SpaceX is the world’s first reusable rocket of the orbital class.
This rocket, which has a length of 70 meters and a diameter of 3.7 meters, greatly reduces the high costs of space missions thanks to its reusability. Falcon-9 can carry a load of 22,800 kg into low earth orbit.
