In the past weeks, we have seen that Netflix games are not played by almost any user. However, the publishing giant does not seem to want to give up the gaming business. Allegedly, Netflix will offer its games over the cloud. The company is said to bring a cloud gaming feature to the TV app.
Netflix enters the cloud gaming business
Netflix Games , which started in November of last year, is not going as the company wanted. According to recent research, only 1 percent of Netflix subscribers play Netflix games. Although the publishing giant is constantly adding more games, it cannot attract the attention of users.
According to a new report by Protocol , a cloud gaming service for Netflix Games may be in the works. It was stated that the broadcast giant’s job list is looking for talented people in cloud gaming. The job posting mentioned experience with “cloud gaming challenges, infrastructure and customer requirements”.
The job posting opened by Netflix seems to be looking for knowledgeable people on cloud platforms. “In this role, you will help optimize the rendering of games so we can create multiple games on our cloud gaming devices,” the job description says.
Netflix also wants game developers to prepare high-quality productions for the Netflix cloud ecosystem. This suggests that the Netflix cloud service will not be limited to Netflix Games . If it can offer the cloud feature from the Netflix application on the TV, it may attract the attention of hundreds of thousands of players.
The company also wants “controller or touch control experience” from job applicants. Still, the broadcast giant’s plans for cloud gaming are not yet clear. But it seems logical for it to offer its cloud gaming service beyond Netflix Games.
