“The G-20 foreign ministers meeting held in India was overshadowed by Russia’s attempts to attack Ukraine. The US and Russia accused each other of casting a shadow over the meeting. US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said that the meeting was overshadowed by Russia’s baseless and unjust war against Ukraine, intentional destruction of civilian targets, and violation of the basic principles of the UN. He added that they will continue to focus on supporting Ukraine and leading the solution of global challenges. On the other hand, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov blamed Western countries and accused them of turning the G-20 agenda into a “comedy”. Lavrov also discussed the Black Sea Grain Corridor Initiative and criticized the West for creating obstacles to Russia’s agricultural exports. During the meeting, Lavrov also met with his Chinese counterpart Qin Gang, and they agreed to reject attempts to interfere in the internal affairs of other countries and impose unilateral approaches, as well as to deepen their bilateral relations.”
