The expected RAM good news from Apple may come with the iPhone 15
The long-awaited good news for iPhones may finally be coming. Apple is preparing to increase the amount of RAM of the iPhone 15s.
In its latest report, rendForce says it believes Apple will increase the amount of RAM in the upcoming new iPhone 15 models. Accordingly, the RAM capacity of the iPhone 15 may be 8 GB.
It seems that Apple will increase the capacity and features of DRAM solutions in the new generation iPhone, which is planned to be released this year. Taking recent factors into account, TrendForce estimates that the annual growth rate of the average DRAM content of smartphones will reach approximately 6.7 percent for 2023.
If this turns out to be true, it will be the first RAM increase since the iPhone 12 Pro, where the company finally added 6GB of RAM to the iPhone. With the rumors that 8 GB of RAM will be used for all 4 models, we can expect the regular iPhone 15 models to retain the existing A16 Bionic chip, while the iPhone 15 Pro version will have the new A17 Bionic processor produced with the 3nm technology process.
According to other rumors, we will see different innovations in the iPhone 15 models. According to screen analyst Ross Young, Apple will bring Dynamic Island to all iPhone 15 models. However, this does not mean that all versions will have Always-On display technology or ProMotion. Young believes that these 2 features will remain exclusive to the iPhone 15 Pro series.
Adding Dynamic Island to regular models will help Apple increase sales, as standard iPhone 14 versions sell worse than their predecessors, according to analysts. According to a design rumor, the regular iPhone 15 models will have a glass and aluminum coating, the Pro version will have glass and stainless steel, and the Pro Max – or Ultra – model will have a glass and titanium variant.
TrendForce also says that the Pro Max/Ultra version will finally get the long-talked periscope lens.
